Very regrettably we have had to take the joint decision to cancel this ‘live’ event in light of the recent announcement from the Prime Minster and the latest DfE guidance which insists that; “As primary schools are using bubbles as part of their system of controls then those bubbles will need to be maintained at secondary school visits too”. In other words students would not be able to mingle and mix with any other student from any other primary. Without the opportunity to meet their new classmates and with the logistical impossibility of keeping so many different primary schools separate for the day, the transition day is simply unworkable.

We realise this will come as a disappointment for parents and students; there is no doubt that knowing where you will go in September, seeing it in the flesh, meeting a few people etc. makes transition all the easier and that first day a little less daunting. However, times are such that it is simply impossible. Schools will provide an online induction package - with some introductory videos and parents/students will have an opportunity to at least get a feel for the places and faces of our schools.

Our virtual induction packages will go live on or before Thursday 8^th July.

Parents will be contacted by each school accordingly.
