We have been getting crafty this week!

Week beginning 11th November 2024

Our first week back was focused on Bonfire Night and the season of Autumn. Take a look at our learning...

Welcome back to all our Caterpillars and their families.

Our theme for Term 2 is...

As part of our studies this term, we will be finding out about the story of Guy Fawkes, exploring the Amazon river and rainforest in Geography, learning how to keep our bodies and minds healthy in science and will be designing and making some delicious winter soup in D.T.

Alongside our daily phonics sessions, English lessons will be based on the following books...

In P.S.H.E, we follow the JIGSAW programme of study. This term we are 'Celebrating Difference' and will be following Jigsaw Jack's journey...

As always, we are looking forward to a busy yet fun term of learning. Don't forget to check back regularly to see pictures of all that we have been up to!

A few reminders...

Log in to Bug Club to choose a book or game whenever you can. New ones have been added for you over the holidays.

Read for 5 to 10 mins every day to keep your reading skills in tip-top form. Don't forget to fill in the reading bookmarks- 5 completed bookmarks will enable you to choose a book to keep for yourself from Mrs Ransley's treasure trove! Also make time to practice reading and spelling the tricky and high-frequency words. A link to these can be found below and on the home learning pages.

P.E. lessons are on Fridays. Please ensure your child comes to school in their P.E. kit on these days and that earrings are removed.

Please label all items belonging to your child, from jumpers and coats to water bottles and lunch boxes. It helps to reunite lost items with their owners quickly and without upset.

You will find the home learning challenge grid on the home learning page. Try to complete at least 4 challenges during the term. Home learning books will be winging their way home this week. We will ask for books to come in to school on the final week of the term so we can celebrate each child's achievements and award them with a certificate for their efforts.

Maths challenges will also be set weekly by Mrs Chapman (Year 1) and Mrs Walker (Year 2). Again, you can find these on the home learning page.
